A magnitude 5.0 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Baganga, Davao Oriental on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said. The earthquake struck at 10:32 a.m. on May 25 at 07.92°N, 126.99°E - 061 km N 51° E of Baganga.The tremor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 7 kilometers.Intensity IV was felt in Baganga, Davao Oriental, and Intensity III in Cateel, Davao Oriental.Intensity II meanwhile was experienced in the municipalities of Boston, Manay, and Tarragona in Davao Oriental; and Intensity I in Compostela in Davao de Oro, and Banaybanay in Davao Oriental.The earthquake was first reported by PHIVOLCS as having magnitude 5.2 before downgrading it to magnitude 5.0 as of 11:45 a.m.PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks from the earthquake may occur. —Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/KG, GMA News
