A school in Kaiapoi was put into lockdown after an incident sent a person to hospital.
Police said they were responding to the incident at the school after reports of a disorder around 2.10pm.

“The school has initiated a lockdown as per their protocols,” said Senior Sergeant Hamish Keer-Keer of the Canterbury District Command Centre.
Hato Hone St John said they treated one person and transported them to Christchurch Public Hospital in a moderate condition.
