INDIANAPOLIS — May 2026 will go down as the greatest month of Felix Rosenqvist’s life.On May 4, Rosenqvist and his wife, Emille, welcomed their first child into the world, a daughter named Stella. “Mom and baby are both very healthy and dad has never been more proud,” Rosenqvist and Emille wrote on Instagram.Twenty days later, it was the turn of Emille and Stella to be proud as Rosenqvist — “Dad” — cemented his place in racing history. Not only did Rosenqvist win the Indianapolis 500, one of the greatest prizes in all of motorsports. He won what was arguably the greatest Indy 500 in history, shaking his nearly-man status in the process.“I’m still trying to take in being a dad,” the 34-year-old Rosenqvist said in the post-race news conference, the winner’s ring already on his finger. “I guess if I was sleep deprived before, it’s about to get even worse.”The 110th running of the famed race featured a record 70 lead changes, 617 passes and 14 different drivers at the front. Yet it was Rosenqvist who made the final, decisive pass with milliseconds to spare, pulling just a foot ahead of David Malukas as their cars crossed the line.
