Ten people have been injured after a Cathay Pacific flight from Brisbane, Australia, hit severe weather and sudden turbulence, forcing emergency medical crews to rush to the aircraft as it landed at Hong Kong International Airport.
One traveller said it felt like “free-falling from a drop tower” as everyone screamed and items flew through the air as turbulence hit.
Flight CX156 on Saturday was operated by an Airbus A350-900.
According to airline officials and passengers, the aircraft ran into a severe storm about two hours before its scheduled landing and causing a sudden and violent drop in altitude, Air Live reported.
Six cabin crew and four passengers were left with minor injuries and grazes.
