NewsUK NewsFire ServiceTrain services in London have been suspended due to a massive fire close to Hackney Central with around 60 firefighters tackling the blaze where several vehicles were alight21:39, 24 May 2026Updated 21:48, 24 May 2026Passengers are facing travel chaos this evening with a fire near a London station forcing services to be suspended.‌Images from the scene on Cottrill Gardens, close to Hackney Central, showed huge flames and thick black smoke billowing into the air.‌Around 60 firefighters tackled the blaze after racing to the scene around 6.10pm with crews coming from Homerton, Leyton, Whitechapel and surrounding stations.‌London Fire Brigade stated: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are tackling a fire on Cottrill Gardens in Hackney.
