Juventus started the final day of the campaign two points outside of the top four, and needing to beat their rivals to secure Champions League football next season.With two of the four Champions League places still undecided Torino-Juventus was scheduled to kick-off at the same time as the fixtures involving Milan and Roma, the other teams vying for a place in Europe’s top tier competition next season.
However, it has been reported that Juventus’ ultras asked the players not to go ahead with the game after a fan was taken to Mauriziano hospital in a critical condition.Speaking to Sky Italia, Juventus chief executive Damien Comolli said: “It is extremely sad. We are very worried. Sorry about this. When I talk about fans I get a bit emotional because I grew up a football fan. We are concerned about what is happening outside. It’s very sad; this isn’t what we want to see in football.”Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli went over to the away end to talk to the ultras. Representatives from both clubs have opened a dialogue with the local police.Kick off has been postponed until 9:45pm CET.This is a developing story.
