A single mum juggling four jobs has been given the chance to launch her very own food business19:58, 24 May 2026A single mum working four jobs has been given a lifeline by a wealthy couple.Sue and her 16-year-old lad James previously featured on Channel 5's popular programme Rich House, Poor House. The mum and son duo share a two-bedroom terraced home in Ashby, Scunthorpe.Grafting seven days a week, Sue balances four different roles to stay afloat. She works as a carer on Mondays, an assistant nurse Tuesday through Friday, does cleaning on Saturdays, and serves up burgers on Sundays.Sue has big dreams of launching her own food venture producing high-protein hemp products, but with just £70 left each week after bills, her lifelong ambition has been shelved as she struggles to get by.Getting a glimpse of how the top 1% live, Sue and James traded homes for a week with millionaire pair Nick and Sarah, who reside in a stunning five-bedroom farmhouse with their daughters Megan and Lucy.Their property boasts luxury bathrooms, a swanky cinema and games room, plus their own private lake. Nick initially trained as a primary school teacher but packed it in to pursue his passion for horse training. He soon made enough to take the risk and set up Nick Bradley Racing, which has gone from strength to strength. The couple, who met 20 years ago, now own and breed hundreds of racehorses from their beautiful farm and it turns over £4million a year.Yet running a thriving business isn't all glitz and glamour, as Nick confessed that some weeks he clocks up 90 hours. Throughout the swap, Nick was swift to commend Sue on her work ethic and was resolute in his mission to transform her circumstances. When the moment arrived for Sue to reunite with Nick and Sarah, she was overwhelmed with emotion as they unveiled plans to help launch her food enterprise.Sue confessed: "Sometimes I do feel like a little hamster on a wheel. I keep going and I keep going and I pay the bills and the rest of it, but I'm not actually moving forward."Addressing Sue's entrepreneurial aspirations, Nick observed: "Where you've started, it's a good idea. Where you've got to, I think, on the journey, you're on the journey but you're a long way."He added: "My friend, she runs a food company and she advises people on how to get going in the food industry. I've arranged, if you're free..."Unable to contain her excitement, Sue interjected: "Absolutely Nick, Absolutely." Nick continued: "For myself, yourself to go and see them and have a business... a food business consultation and the aim is to give you the opportunity to do the food project that you've talked about."Sue was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears as Nick announced: "We'd also like to buy you a food wagon van."Nick has taken a stake in the venture and serves as company director, providing guidance at every turn. But the generosity didn't end there, as Nick also arranged a paid summer position for James, who had been planning to embark on a plumbing course. The 16-year-old will work under the guidance of Nick's handyman Mick, converting a substantial double garage on the estate into residential accommodation.Article continues belowYou can stream Rich House, Poor House on Channel 5.
