Naam Tamilar Katchi chief co-ordinator Seeman on Sunday said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should condemn the statement made by Karnataka’s deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar that Tamil Nadu doesn’t have the right to oppose the Karnataka government’s plan to construct a dam in Mekedatu across the Cauvery river.In a statement, Mr. Seeman said that Mr. Shivakumar’s statement reeked of “arrogance” and shows that they are trying to “claim an exclusive ownership over the Cauvery river water rights for themselves”.Strongly condemning the remarks, he urged Mr. Vijay to register strong opposition to the Karnataka government’s attempt to build a dam at Mekedatu.
