ISLAMABAD, May 24. /TASS/. Significant progress has been achieved in the negotiating process between the United States and Iran to resolve their ongoing conflict, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday.
"We commend President Trump’s leadership and commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, alongside Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the entire US team [Special Presidential Envoy] Steve Witkoff and [businessman] Jared Kushner, whose sustained engagement helped achieve meaningful progress in the ongoing negotiations," Dar stated on his X social network account.
"We appreciate and are thankful for the constructive engagement of the Iranian leadership, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in support of advancing these peace efforts," he added.
US President Trump announced earlier that the draft of the future deal with Iran had been generally agreed. He stressed that he had telephone conversations with the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey and discussed with them the draft memorandum of understanding on the peace deal with Iran.
