Henry Swartz lost his life while on duty.
A Gqeberha man’s last message to his wife of 30 years was asking her to leave the garage door open because he would be home late from work.
But 54-year-old Henry Swartz never made it home.
Instead, just hours later, his boss arrived at the family’s home to tell his wife, Rochell, that Swartz and his 27-year-old colleague, Hussain Jbonomau, had died inside a milk cooling tank at a farm in Humansdorp.
Speaking to IOL through tears, Rochell said all she has left of the father of their nine children and 11 grandchildren are photos of him smiling and the last goodbye they shared before he left for work on Wednesday morning.
