Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry building sustained minor damage from nearby explosions during Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine on May 24.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on X.
Sybiha noted that the unique architectural landmark, designed by Iosif Langbard and built in 1939, had suffered damage for the first time since World War II.
“Looking at its broken windows this morning, I can state with full confidence on behalf of our entire diplomatic team: Russian terrorists will not make us stop. The Ukrainian diplomacy will continue effectively fulfilling its tasks, countering Russian aggression, and bringing peace closer,” he wrote.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the Russian strikes targeted the historic district – the very center of ancient Rus.
