NewsUK NewsMissing personsPolice in Scotland have launched an urgent appeal to find missing American tourist Adam Chalmers, 36, who vanished while hiking in the Highlands11:03, 24 May 2026Updated 11:10, 24 May 2026An urgent search is underway for an American tourist who has been reported missing while hiking in the Scottish Highlands.‌Police Scotland have launched an appeal to locate Adam Chalmers, 36, who was last heard from at 12.40pm on Saturday in the Ben Lawers mountain range.‌He had planned to scale the Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh, and An Stuc Munros, and in his last message he said he had one left to complete.‌He is white, 5ft 11in, of stocky build, and is bald with a medium-length brown beard. He was wearing a green and blue triangle-patterned fleece, a grey and black waterproof jacket, green walking trousers, a blue cap and brown boots.
