The organisation said Nigerians still remained in the dark regarding the identities of local contractors involved in the project.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has accused the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu of failing to fully comply with a Federal High Court judgment ordering the disclosure of details surrounding the controversial $460 million Abuja CCTV Project, after the Ministry of Finance admitted it had no detailed records of local contractors involved in the project.

SERAP, in a fresh letter addressed to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, demanded the immediate publication of the identities of all Nigerian contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and other entities that benefited from payments under the National Public Security Communication System project, popularly known as the Abuja CCTV Project.

The Federal Ministry of Finance had, in response to contempt proceedings initiated by SERAP, disclosed that although local subcontractors may have been engaged, it had no detailed records identifying the Nigerian companies that directly received funds from the Chinese loan used to finance the project.
