Brazilian bodybuilder and fitness influencer Gabriel Ganley, popularly known online as “Bbzinho,” has died at the age of 22, leaving the fitness world in shock. Sponsor Integralmédica confirmed the tragic news on May 23, calling him their “eternal bbzinho.” While the official cause of death has not yet been revealed, unverified speculation surrounding possible hypoglycemia has circulated online. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Ganley had become one of Brazil’s fastest-rising fitness personalities, building a massive following of nearly two million Instagram followers through intense workout videos, bodybuilding updates, and his energetic online persona. His popularity exploded after a viral video showed him performing a staggering 500-kilogram leg press, turning him into a recognizable figure beyond hardcore bodybuilding circles. In an emotional tribute, Integralmédica wrote, “Today the pain speaks louder. With great sadness, we say goodbye to our eternal bbzinho, who lived intensely and with whom we had historic and unforgettable moments in our family.” Ganley reportedly started lifting weights at just 15 years old after drawing inspiration from bodybuilding legends of the 1980s and 1990s. He later studied Physical Education for two years at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) before moving to São Paulo in 2023 to pursue content creation and competitive bodybuilding full-time. The young influencer had openly discussed his use of anabolic steroids with followers in recent years. He also battled pneumonia last year, which forced him to step away from competitions temporarily. Reports suggest he had been preparing for Musclecontest Brasil in Curitiba before his untimely death. Tributes from across the bodybuilding community quickly flooded social media after news of his passing broke. RXMuscle described Ganley as a “Brazilian superstar,” while Classic Physique athlete Ramon Dino remembered him as someone who brought laughter and positivity everywhere he went. Ramon Dino wrote, “Always happy, always playful, always getting laughs from those around him. It was impossible to be with him and not remember the jokes, the banter, the good energy he brought.” He later added, “Rest in peace, my friend. Wherever you are, keep inspiring people with your intensity, your essence, your smile, and that infectious joy.” Brazilian bodybuilder Gabriel Zancanelli also shared an emotional message, calling Ganley “a unique personality” with unmatched charisma. Coach Fabrício Pacholok and IFBB Pro Leandro Peres similarly paid tribute, remembering him for his humor, warmth, and unforgettable presence. Ganley’s sudden death has deeply impacted Brazil’s fitness and bodybuilding community, especially younger fans who saw him as part of a new generation of influencers blending gym culture with social media fame.
