A 44-year-old school teacher was killed after the car in which he was travelling fell into a ditch on the Vandalur - Ponneri Outer Ring Road near Kundrathur on Sunday (May 24, 2026). Tambaram police said Prabhakar, was a resident of NGO Colony in Ponneri and was working as a teacher at a government school in Pulicat. On Sunday, he was traveling in a car driven by his colleague Sasikala towards Vandalur.In the car, Sasikala’s daughter Dikshitha (16) and three other students Lohith (8), Magizhini (8), and Mazhali (4) were also travelling. As Sasikala was driving the car on the ORR, she lost control while proceeding on the flyover towards Kundrathur. The car fell into a ditch from the flyover.In the accident, Prabhakar died on the spot, while Sasikala sustained minor injuries. The four children including Dikshitha sustained severe injuries. The injured children were admitted to the Tambaram Government Hospital. Later, they were transferred to the Institute of Child Health in Egmore, for advanced treatment.
