While many of the iOS 27 rumors have focused on Apple Intelligence, Siri, and performance – there’s a plethora of upgrades reportedly coming to the Camera app, building on top of the redesign that we saw last year with iOS 26. There’ll also be a number of new AI-enhanced editing tools coming to the Photos app.
Customizable camera UI
Right now, the Camera app interface is pretty fixed in place, with controls only being exposed as needed – and the rest being tucked away in a menu. With iOS 27, Apple will be allowing users to adjust what controls are shown, and you’ll be able to make the app fit your needs better. From Bloomberg:
Apple Inc. is planning to upgrade its Camera app, making the software fully customizable as part of a broader set of user interface changes coming in its next iPhone software update.
With the new approach, users will be able to choose which features appear in the Camera app — and where they’re placed. That includes controls for flash, exposure, the timer and resolution, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
