LONDON, May 24. /TASS/. The UK police are investigating a presumed case of "inappropriate behavior" on the part of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, The Sunday Times said, citing sources.
According to the report, the incident occurred during a prestigious horse racing event called Royal Ascot near London in 2002. The event is typically attended by members of the royal family.
The event, which was presumably held between June 18 and 22, 2002, was attended by Queen Elizabeth (1926-2022) and other royal family members. A photo of Prince Andrew in the company of his daughter Princess Eugenie and his elder brother Prince Charles (now King Charles III) was taken during the event.
On May 22, UK media reported that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is under investigation for possible sexual misconduct.
On February 19, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's 66th birthday, he was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning. He is suspected of misconduct in public office. Thames Valley Police are investigating allegations that he passed confidential information to Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier convicted of pedophilia, while serving as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 to 2011. He was later released without charge, and the investigation is ongoing.
