No points. But given a shambolic opening day denied him a chance to post a sprint qualifying time, Liam Lawson will take his 11th placed finish.
The Kiwi F1 driver was impressive in his Racing Bulls car on Sunday (NZT), clocking the most passes (seven) of any driver over the 23-lap sprint race in Canada.
Lawson crossed 12th but moved up a spot after Cadillac’s Sergio Perez was penalised for forcing Lawson wide. Perez went from 11th to 14th.
Lawson had a disastrous opening day to start the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, only completing a handful of laps and missing key time on the track.
There was some concern ahead of qualifying (8am Sunday NZT), after Lawson was heard telling his race engineer he had picked up damage near the end of the sprint race.
