ORLANDO Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine leading celebrations by hoisting the Buccaneers' flag high after they won the Betway Premiership title dethroning Mamelodi Sundowns with a 2-0 against Orbit College in Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Orlando Pirates were crowned Betway Premiership champions after a season defined by patience, resilience and steady progression under Abdeslam Ouaddou, who hailed a campaign that transformed early setbacks into a title-winning run.
The Buccaneers endured a slow start to the season, dropping points in their opening two matches, a period that raised questions about their readiness to challenge for the title.
However, those early stumbles ultimately proved to be a turning point in a campaign that ended with silverware and celebration.
Speaking after the triumph, Ouaddou reflected on both the challenge and privilege of leading one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
