Saraki made the announcement on Saturday, barely 24 hours after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) declared the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Danladi, as the winner of its governorship primary election conducted on Friday.
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has announced Engr. Kale Kawu as the consensus governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State ahead of the party’s primary election.
Saraki made the announcement on Saturday, barely 24 hours after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) declared the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Danladi, as the winner of its governorship primary election conducted on Friday.
In a statement released on Saturday, Saraki said the PDP arrived at the decision after wide consultations with party stakeholders and leading governorship aspirants in the state.
According to him, the emergence of Engr. Kale Kawu as the consensus candidate was aimed at strengthening party unity and positioning the PDP for victory at the polls.
