Chinese multinational equipment brand SANY says its new, SY375E electric excavator will redefine heavy-duty performance and job site sustainability with its impressive range of capabilities – but one item leaps off the spec sheet: the massive, swappable 550 kWh CATL battery!
The 40-ton class SY375E electric excavator is one of the latest SANY machines to make its way into Western markets, and packs a 200 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that, in concert with the machine’s hydraulic actuators, delivers 235 kN of bucket digging force. More than enough, says SANY, to match the power and productivity of its diesel-powered counterparts on just about every job site.
SANY isn’t content with just matching the capabilities of diesel equipment with its big EVs, however. They offer contractors working in urban areas, emission- and noise-restricted zones, or on big civil projects with long lead times and lots of exposure to swings in fuel costs a serious competitive advantage.
“The construction industry isn’t just building infrastructure – it’s building the future,” writes Wesley Q. Yang, General Manager of SANY International, Europe. “And that future is electric.”
I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Yang., but if you’re still on the fence, consider that the SANY SY375E’s compact swing radius (4.18 m, or just about 13.5 ft), low center of gravity, 35° gradability, and precise electronic and autonomous grade and leveling controls would make it ideally suited for rough or uneven terrain.
