adsAs farmers across Kano State intensify preparations for the 2026 wet season farming cycle, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has concluded arrangements for the distribution of 53,040 bags of fertiliser to farmers and other beneficiaries across the 13 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District.

The intervention, which will see the distribution of the fertiliser conveyed in 88 truckloads, is aimed at reducing the burden of rising agricultural input costs and boosting food production ahead of the farming season.

According to a statement issued by Barau’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, the annual fertiliser distribution programme will commence on May 31 across the senatorial district.

The statement said the initiative forms part of the lawmaker’s sustained efforts to support farmers, improve agricultural productivity and contribute to the attainment of food security in the country.

The beneficiaries cut across different segments of society, including farmers, party stakeholders, elected local government chairmen and vice-chairmen, councillors, secretaries, members of the APC caucus, traditional and religious leaders, school administrators, security personnel and social media influencers.adsads
