Gezane “Papa Penny” Kobane explained why he resigned from the MK Party to join Floyd Shivambu’s Africa Mayibuye Movement.
Former MK Party MP Gezane “Papa Penny” Kobane said internal conditions within the party forced him to leave, accusing certain figures inside the organisation of working against him while leadership failed to act.
The veteran musician confirmed that he has joined the Afrika Mayibuye Movement led by Floyd Shivambu, saying the move was driven by frustration after repeated warnings to party leadership allegedly went ignored.
Speaking in an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Papa Penny said he was pushed to the edge by individuals he described as ANC-linked operatives within MKP structures in Limpopo.
“I never fought with President Zuma or national leaders,” he said.
