It occurred at 9:46pm local time and was centred about 3.7 miles east-southeast of the Honaunau-Napoopoo area along the western flank of Mauna Loa, at a depth of 14 miles.‌It was followed by a second quake just six minutes later which registered at magnitude 3.2, just to the northwest of the first about 13 miles beneath the surface.Content cannot be displayed without consent‌Reports of shaking poured in, with strong tremors felt across the state as far away as Omao and Hanalei on the neighbouring island of Kauai, Hawaii News Now reports.Locals took to social media to report the quake. "Earthquake strongly felt in Honolulu, Hawaii," M. Makelani Tuha said in a post on X. "My building in Kakaako was shaking so hard I thought it might collapse for a second. Freaky!
