A teenage prodigy who bowled out the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for his first-ever duck in domestic cricket at the age of 19, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was never away from the limelight. A lanky medium pacer hailing from the Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, Kumar, known by the nickname Bhuvi amongst his teammates and fans, made his international debut at the age of 22 in 2012. In his first T20I against Pakistan, he took three wickets. In his first ODI match against the same opposition, he began by taking the wicket of Mohammed Hafeez in the first-ever ball he bowled in ODIs. In 2013, Kumar made his Test debut against Australia and finished the series with six wickets from four matches. In the same series, he scored 38 runs, the highest by an Indian number 10 on debut. Kumar was part of India's successful 2013 ICC Champions Trophy campaign. He was part of the "Team of the Tournament" in both the 2013 and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy editions. Known for his accuracy and ability to swing the ball, Kumar has been a regular in the Indian international setup. His achievements in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earned him a place in the all-time 'Cricinfo' IPL XI.
