The Hurricanes sit five points clear at the top of the Super Rugby Pacific table and have all but clinched their top seeding into the playoffs with two rounds remaining.
A bonus-point victory against the Highlanders would make them almost unbeatable in the regular season and they have a 10-game winning record against the southerners, putting 50 points on them at Dunedin in March.
