By Malay Mail Saturday, 23 May 2026 11:21 AM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today took a swipe at politicians who he said had lost sight of their original political struggle, describing them as louder complainers than the country’s small traders.According to Berita Harian, the prime minister said he admired the resilience of small-time traders, whom he described as complaining far less than big business players or certain politicians.“In reality, complaints from small traders are very minimal. It’s the big players who complain the most, and the loudest of all are politicians who have strayed,” he reportedly told the national daily during a visit to the Taman Melawati farmers’ market here today.“Thankfully, none of them (the small traders) spend their time grumbling and whining endlessly. That only comes from certain politicians.”However, Anwar declined to elaborate further when pressed on political matters.“No politics today,” he said jokingly. “Politics can wait while we eat nasi dagang.”
