San Antonio Spurs fans have had enough of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s gamesmanship and what they perceive as preferential officiating favoring him and the Thunder. They made it known during Game 3 of the Western Conference finals, the series’ first game in San Antonio. One Spurs fan showed up to Frost Bank Center wrapped in bubble wrap with a blue No. 2 taped to his chest, then flailed around in a video posted to X, mocking what Spurs fans view as Gilgeous-Alexander’s tendency to exaggerate contact in search of fouls.

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) May 22, 2026The topic of Oklahoma City receiving a favorable whistle reached a boiling point in Game 2, when Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein drew the assignment of guarding Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. Hartenstein opted for an extremely physical approach to slowing the transcendent Frenchman, one that San Antonio fans felt referees allowed with not enough correction. The physicality carried beyond Wembanyama. On one play, Hartenstein grabbed and pulled Spurs guard Stephon Castle’s long dreadlocks, snapping the second-year guard’s head backward. Hartenstein was not whistled for a foul on the play.Spurs fans didn’t like that one either.
