Warsaw's goal of finalizing by year's end an engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC) with US suppliers to build Poland's first nuclear power plant is much delayed from the previous mid-2025 contract completion targets mooted by reactor vendor Westinghouse and general contractor Bechtel. The protracted negotiations continue to grapple with the allocation of construction risk in the event of delays, cost overruns, technical problems or regulatory impediments.
