Interiors of the new home exude an earthy palette, with smoothed rounded concrete walls, stone surfaces, refined curves, timber detail and expansive glass for uninterrupted ocean views.There is a lift, a show-stopping pool, ocean-facing terraces and a six-car underground garage. The main bedroom has an open shower and steam room.A sale of $50 million-plus would soar above area records. The Wategos waterfront property known as Watermark sold for $30 million in 2023 to Brisbane developer Adam Flaskas, while a seven-bedroom abode sold for $36 million last year to software entrepreneur Karen Cariss.The buyer will also be neighbours with Rip Curl co-founder Brian Singer, Afterpay co-founder Anthony Eisen, art dealer Steve Nasteski and Icebergs director Deke Miskin.Singer bought the five-bedroom holiday home of recruitment industry boss Geoff Morgan and his wife Ros for $22 million in 2020, while Brett Whiteley dealer Nasteski snapped up the landmark Whalewatchers house for $12 million in 2019.The shack on the original site cost $3,735,000 in 2014, and was knocked down. Eisen bought a second getaway on the prized strip for $23 million in 2023. He first joined the ranks of Wategos Beach home owners in 2018 when he bought a property known as The White House for $7.6 million from Boorowa farmer Charlie Arnott of the Arnott’s Biscuit family.Will Phillips and Brad Rogan of Sotheby’s International Realty Byron Bay are selling the Marine Parade home, and declined to comment when contacted by this masthead.Investor snaps up penthouse after the budget Martin Veall, who owns a 15-hectare private island in Queensland, sold his North Bondi penthouse at auction on May 16 for $13 million to an investor days after the budget was handed down. The five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence first hit the market in January for $13 million, before getting a $3 million discount in a fresh campaign through a different agency.
