Customers of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) will be unable to purchase electricity tokens or make payments for nearly two days as the company announced a temporary shutdown of its vending platform to carry out a major system upgrade.
In a notice issued on Friday signed by Emeka Ezeh group head, corporate communications EEDC, the company said the shutdown would begin at 6pm on May 22, 2026, for postpaid customers, while prepaid customers would be affected from 12 midnight.
