A 50-year-old man’s death sparked some uneasy moments on Friday, when some of the relatives demanded action against the suspects behind the assault.Police said that Lakshmanan, 50, of Murugavel Nagar, Avaniapuram, was separated from his wife for a few years. He lived with his relatives. Two days ago, when he was returning home at night, it is said that a few people in the locality had chased him under charges of attempt to steal from a house.His family members admitted him to Government Rajaji Hospital the next day for treatment. However, he died in the early hours of Friday. As the news spread, the family sought action against those who had attacked Lakshmanan, refused to take the body from the hospital and resorted to a brief agitation.Senior officers arrived and pacified them.
