Italian police reportedly shut down a movie wrap party attended by Hollywood stars and rock and roll icon Mick Jagger on the island of Stromboli earlier this week due to a local rule banning music on Wednesdays.
The celebrities had gathered on the volcanic island, which forms part of the Aeolian archipelago, to celebrate after finishing filming for "Three Incestuous Sisters," an upcoming movie from Italian filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher.
Other famous faces in attendance included Oscar-winning Irish performer Jessie Buckley and Italian cinema legend Isabella Rossellini, as well as "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Dakota Johnson, "Brooklyn" actress Saoirse Ronan, and "Challengers" actor Josh O'Connor, per Italy's Ansa news agency.
The bash is said to have been stopped by officers in line with the music ban from Riccardo Gullo, the mayor of Lipari, a nearby island.
The decision has drawn criticism from Rosa Oliva, the president of the Pro Loco Amo Stromboli, a local organisation that promotes sustainable tourism.
