A new report published by Turkey’s National Intelligence Academy in May 2026 describes the war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel as a turning point in how modern warfare is understood. The report does not treat the conflict simply as a regional confrontation, but as a real-world laboratory for next-generation warfare.

Turkey’s National Intelligence Academy was established in 2023 under the country’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and began operating in January 2024. Its purpose is to develop intelligence studies as an academic field. The academy offers postgraduate programs in intelligence, security, strategy, and related technologies. Through research and analytical projects, it seeks to build national and international cooperation platforms, strengthen Turkey’s position in intelligence and security affairs, and engage with the wider academic community.

Earlier, in August 2025, the academy had examined the twelve-day war between Iran and Israel as a model for “future wars,” assessing its military, technological, and geopolitical dimensions.

The latest report goes further. Along with the military and technological aspects of the war, it also examines its geopolitical, economic, and social consequences, while setting out the lessons Turkey should draw from the conflict.
