The organisation argued that the action by the U.S. government was “politically motivated, hypocritical, and a continuation of decades of imperialist hostility against the people of Cuba and their Socialist Revolution.”
The Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba has condemned what it described as provocative actions by the United States Department of Justice against Raúl Castro, accusing the U.S. government of sustaining decades of hostility toward socialist Cuba.
In a press statement issued on Friday, and signed by its Chairperson, Salisu Nuhu Muhammad, the group described the accusations against the former Cuban leader as “an insult” and a politically motivated attack on the Cuban Revolution.
The statement was dated Friday, May 22, 2026, and signed by Salisu Nuhu Muhammad on behalf of the Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba.
“The Nigeria Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (NMSC) strongly condemns the United States provocative actions against Comrade Raúl Castro and the Cuban Revolution,” the statement read.
