Ram Gopal Varma or RGV is a film director and producer, who has been behind some pretty acclaimed films like Company, Satya, Rangeela, Sarkar, Shool and Siva, among others. His films showcase gritty reality and have technical finesse, and craft. He is also known for dramatized re-enactment of real-life incidents. Rayalaseema factionism (Rakta Charitra), 2008 Mumbai attacks (The Attacks of 26/11), Operation Cocoon (Killing Veerappan), Vijayawada riots (Vangaveeti), all stand testimony to this fact. Recently, he churned out a film on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, titled Coronavirus. Reviewers called it a “dreary take” on the outbreak, which is currently wreaking havoc across the globe.
