Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season after 10 trophy-laden years.
News first broke of Guardiola’s departure the night before his side’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, which confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions.
After months of deliberation, the decision has been made and the club are now preparing for life without their most successful manager of all time.
As The i Paper reported earlier this month, City have a ready-made successor in waiting, with former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca set to take charge. Maresca is a Guardiola disciple, playing an almost identical playing style having honed his craft with City’s coaching staff.
