VCK, IUML join Tamil Nadu government as Vijay expands Cabinet
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Friday expanded his Cabinet with the induction of VCK MLA Vanni Arasu and IUML MLA A.M. Shahjahan. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy at Lok Bhavan in Chennai. Shahjahan has been assigned the Minorities Welfare portfolio, while Vanni Arasu will head the Adi Dravidar Welfare and Hill Tribes Department and serve as the Minister for Social Justice. The expansion marks the first time the VCK has secured representation in a Tamil Nadu Cabinet.
