The lobbyist said President Tinubu should focus less on critics abroad and more on the worsening economic hardship and insecurity confronting Nigerians.
A United States-based policy advisory and lobbying firm engaged by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Von Batten-Montague-York, has lashed out at President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of prioritising political survival and power retention over the welfare and security of Nigerians.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night, Von Batten of the lobbying firm responded to allegations he claimed were made by lobbyists allegedly working for the Nigerian government, who accused him of “profiting from chaos.”
“This is Dr Von Batten. A short time ago, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, through his lobbyists, accused me of 'profiting from chaos,'” he wrote.
“I will address my response directly to President Tinubu and not his lobbyists because, as lobbyists, they are simply doing their job.”
