The wife of the Anambra State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has distributed 5,000 packs of hybrid non-GMO seeds to residents across the state interested in household gardening and subsistence farming.

She carried out the distribution through her non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, aimed at promoting healthier homes, greener communities, and a more food-secure society.

The Anambra First Lady, who commenced the distribution in 2024, has so far shared 25,000 packs with farmers and residents across the state, boosting subsistence farming and providing economic support for families.

According to a statement released on Friday, each pack contains carefully selected seeds, including corn, green vegetables, cabbage, pepper, tomatoes, and okra, to help individuals and families grow organic and healthy food right from their homes and communities.
