Norway’s first World Cup squad in 28 years was announced on Thursday by the nation’s King Harald V.The 89-year-old named Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and Manchester City forward Erling Haaland as notable inclusions, with Jorgen Strand Larsen (Crystal Palace) the second of only three strikers.Seven of manager Stale Solbakken’s squad hail from the Premier League: with Fulham duo Oscar Bobb and Sander Berge, Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer and Wolverhampton Wanderers defender David Moller Wolfe also included.Completing the front trio is Atletico Madrid forward Alexander Sorloth, who is tied with Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski on 13 goals this season, while RB Leipzig midfielder Antonio Nusa has also made the side.“The heart of this group has been good together both on and off the field. So it is true that football is fresh, and we have to keep that in mind. But I think that we have landed on something that can be good,” manager Solbakken said on the federation’s website.

“It could have been with those who didn’t make it too, and that’s the bad thing about this. That you have to disappoint someone.”
