Armed police were undertaking an operation at a property on a rural road south of Thames on Friday afternoon.
Footage shared to social media showed police blocking off Bagnall Sq at the intersection of Hauraki Rd, in Turua.
Police said they were conducting “an operation” on Hauraki Rd.
A local woman told Stuff police had already taken a number of people from the property on Hauraki Rd in Turua, and she could hear them trying to get another person to come out.
She said the situation had been ongoing since about 11.30am.
