A police dive squad is searching waters in Eastbourne as the homicide investigation into the shooting of a 29-year-old man in Lower Hutt intensifies.
Nathaniel Sturmey was found unresponsive outside an address on Malone Road in Waterloo, Lower Hutt, on Thursday, April 9.
Wellington Field Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Jamie Woods, confirmed on Friday that investigators have now established Sturmey died as a result of a gunshot wound.
The Police National Dive Squad has been deployed to search an area in Eastbourne, Lower Hutt, in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation.
Police also executed several search warrants across the Lower Hutt area on Friday.
