A Toronto councillor who was found by an accountability watchdog to have violated council’s code of conduct will get half of his legal bill covered by the city.
Council voted Thursday to reimburse Toronto Centre representative Chris Moise an additional roughly $9,000, on top of the default $5,000 councillors are entitled to, out of more than $28,000 in legal fees he incurred responding to an integrity commissioner investigation into comments he made to a resident. The vote was 16 to six.
