May 21 (Asia Today) -- Hyundai Glovis said Wednesday it has extended its partnership with Dutch nonprofit The Ocean Cleanup through 2030 to support efforts to remove plastic waste from oceans and rivers.
The South Korean logistics company said the expanded partnership builds on cooperation that began in 2023. Hyundai Glovis has supported data collection on the location and scale of marine plastic waste and helped transport cleanup equipment.
The Ocean Cleanup works to block plastic waste from flowing from rivers into the ocean and to collect and recycle waste already accumulated at sea.
Hyundai Glovis has been supporting the nonprofit's marine plastic observation system, known as ADIS. The system uses cameras installed on ships to automatically detect and photograph floating plastic waste and record its location.
