The Western Hutt Road has been blocked following a collision that left a person seriously injured.
Police were notified of the crash, which involved a vehicle and a bicycle, at about 10.45am on Friday.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes near Silverstream, Upper Hutt close to the intersection of Western Hutt Road and Fergusson Drive.
Emergency services remain at the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and should expect delays while work continues to clear the road.
