The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, has unveiled a three-hundred-million-pound “Great British Summer Savings” package designed to ease the cost-of-living squeeze on families triggered by the war in Iran.
Measures include cutting VAT on summer attractions like theme parks and children’s meals, alongside a suspension of import tariffs on more than one hundred food products.
But the government has stopped short of offering an immediate winter energy bailout.
