The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic to Pakistan announced the release and return to Iran of 20 Iranian sailors from a vessel seized by the United States in Singaporean waters.

On Thursday, May 21, according to the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, the 20 Iranian sailors, who were in a precarious situation due to the seizure of the ship, were released and returned to Iran through the mediation and persistent efforts of Pakistani officials.

It had previously been reported that 11 sailors on the vessel were Pakistani nationals.

Amid the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the United States military, which began on April 8 this year following the cessation of the war, dozens of ships from both sides are facing severe difficulties navigating through the strait.
