India and the African Union have postponed the Fourth India–Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV), initially scheduled to hold in New Delhi from May 28 to 31, 2026, citing concerns over the evolving public health situation in parts of Africa.
In a joint press release issued on Thursday, both sides said the decision followed consultations between the Government of India, the Chairperson of the African Union, and the African Union Commission.
The summit, which was expected to bring together African leaders and stakeholders in India’s capital, has now been deferred to a later date yet to be announced.
