Greece’s Independent Authority for Market Control and Consumer Protection has imposed administrative fines totaling €576,128 on two companies following inspections into alleged unfair profit practices.

The authority said Jacobs Douwe Egberts, active in the coffee sector, was fined €248,06 for exceeding the permitted gross profit margin on 20 product codes.

Pepsico Hellas MABEE was fined €328,067 for similar violations involving 12 product codes across cereals, chocolate and juice products.

According to the authority, the violations occurred between March 13 and April 3, 2026, and concerned breaches of legislation governing maximum allowable gross profit margins. Officials said the inspections are part of ongoing efforts to address excessive pricing practices in the domestic market.
